I’m Matt Rakowski. A results-driven creative marketer with a comprehensive background in creating written and visual content. I currently work for ITR and Immersive AV as Marketing Manager, where I oversee all marketing activities for the business.
I’ve spent over 15 years making a nuisance of myself in the technology and live event industries—coming up with whacky ideas, disrupting people’s way of thinking and challenging their perception of what engaging content can really achieve.
Although principally a content creator, I have extensive experience in a hands-on marketing management role which has earned me a broad repertoire of skills and experience. The core services I’m able to provide to an exceptionally high standard can be divided into the following six disciplines: copywriting and content writing, photography, marketing strategy, event management, digital marketing and PR & communications. I’ve worked as a freelancer and been directly employed by some of the leading brands in the events industry—from event technology suppliers and immersive content specialists to production companies, media brands and trade show organisers.
I’m a natural problem-solver. Approaching projects from a different angle and overcoming challenges previously considered insurmountable are second nature to me. In truth—very little is impossible.
Unlike a lot marketing people, I don’t have a degree. In marketing or anything else. But, I have an enviable amount of experience at many levels of the industry I’m privileged to be a part of. I spent four years as house photographer at the O2 Academy Birmingham. I worked as a lighting tech on arena tours, stadium shows and festivals. I’ve contributed written and visual content for dozens of brands and publications. I’ve organised marketing events in cities around the world. I’ve branded and launched and new businesses and products. And I’ve created more websites than I have the energy to count. I know the world of marketing and events in ways that many others don’t. I’m an insider.
